WTF -The Hinterkaifeck Murders

Gruber family-The Hinterkaifeck Murders shook the public – both from the brutality and the bizarre circumstances surrounding the homicides. Police deduced that Andreas, Cäzilia, Viktoria, and young Cäzilia were somehow lured to the livestock barn and slaughtered one by one. Afterward, the killer (or killers) entered the house and bludgeoned little Josef while he slept in his parents’ bedroom. Then they headed to Maria’s room and murdered her, too.:

Hinterkaifeck homestead, The Gruber family, and their new maid were found bludgeoned to death.

The victims consisted of Maid, Maria Baumgartner(44), Patriarch And Matriarch Andreas(63) and Cäzilia(72) Gruber, their daughters Viktoria Gabriel(35),Cazilia(7-8)and 2 yr old son, Josef.

Police say that the events started about six months before, when the previous maid left, claiming the house was haunted. At the end of March, Mr.Gruger told friends of footprints in the snow leading to his farm but not away, footsteps, and a strange newspaper. None of this was reported to the police.

Sometime on March 31, The oldest four Grubers were lured to the barn and killed, the younger Cazilia, surviving a short time.  The Killer(s?) went into the house where they killed the toddler and the maid.  Their task completed, they took care of the farm animals, ate the family’s food over the weekend.

The family was found on April 4th, 1922, when no one was seen in a couple days.

Autopsies concluded the family was killed using a mattock, a hammer-like tool similar to a pickax, one side of the head flattened into a hoe.

.Rbbery was considered motive at first, until the police found a large sum in plain sight. Then Viktoria’s husband, Karl Gabriel was a suspect, he was dropped after his surviving unit confirmed they saw him die in ww1.(His body was never found though)In 2007 Police academy students came up with a suspect but have kept it uner wraps out of respect to the killer’s family.

WHM Elizabeth Bathory

Part of history includes the crappy things.Countess Elizabeth Bathory

16th Century Countess Elizabeth Bathory wouls be an awesome role model, in charge of a huge territory she successfully defended, shrewd business woman,  loving mother and wife, she spoke and wrote multiple languages, so many positive qualities. Too bad she was Psycho.

Literally.

She grew up in a horribly violent time in a violent family.  She got away with everything, spoiled literally rotten. She would often force people into sexual relationships, same as a lot of nobles of the day.

Bathory was married at fifteen to a twenty-something general.  He took it upon himself to teach his new wife the fine art of torture.  Actually pretty normal for the time, but Elizabeth and her retainers took it to a whole new level. They tormented the people under their protection until her husband’s death.

Elizabeth appears to have been driven by sexual sadism.  Adding to the sadism was her absolute power, money, and her fortresses.  Un Substantiated claims say she bathed in blood to keep her youth.

Un Substantiated claims say she bathed in blood to keep her youth.  What we do know she did was freeze her servants to death, bite them, and set them on fire(specifically their genitalia) Those are just a very few of what she did.  Bathory was only stopped when she started going after noble women.

Bathory never got a trial, being put under house arrest, her henchmen where.  They were tortured to death.

Despite the evidence against her, there are Bathory apologists.  They try to pass her off as a doctor and healer.  Her victims would have something to say to that.

WTF-Dyatlov Pass incident

I love mysteries, here is one I find fascinating.

Dyatlov Pass incident what we know.

1959_0002.jpg

It is located in the Ural mountains, specifically, Kholat Syakhl whose name means “Dead Mountian” due to lack of game. SO named by the native Mansi.  The incident happened in 1959. There were eight students and one professor/group leader who lost their lives….

  • Igor Alekseievich Dyatlov (Игорь Алексеевич Дятлов), the group’s leader, born January 13, 1936
  • Yuri Nikolaievich Doroshenko (Юрий Николаевич Дорошенко), born January 29, 1938
  • Lyudmila Alexandrovna Dubinina (Людмила Александровна Дубинина), born May 12, 1938
  • Yuri (Georgiy) Alexeievich Krivonischenko (Юрий (Георгий) Алексеевич Кривонищенко), born February 7, 1935
  • Alexander Sergeievich Kolevatov (Александр Сергеевич Колеватов), born November 16, 1934
  • Zinaida Alekseevna Kolmogorova (Зинаида Алексеевна Колмогорова), born January 12, 1937
  • Rustem Vladimirovich Slobodin (Рустем Владимирович Слободин), born January 11, 1936
  • Nicolai Vladimirovich Thibeaux-Brignolles (Николай Владимирович Тибо-Бриньоль), born July 8, 1935
  • Semyon (Alexander) Alekseevich Zolotariov (Семён (Александр) Алексеевич Золотарёв), born February 2, 1921

Their goal was to reach Otorten who’s name means “Don’t go there.” using a catagory 3 route. (The most diffecult?) Their climb began in the city of  Ivdel in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia on January 25. They drove to Vizhai, the last town befor the clumb were the incredibly lucky  Yuri Yudin dropped out due to illness.

February 1 the team became stranded in the pass due to weather.

Families of the climbers and Mr Yudin demanded a search after the climbers  were eight days late in checking on back at Vizhai.

The search part found more than expected.

What rescuers found was a massacre.

Six days after the search started the search party found the team’s tent, cut from the inside, with no one in it.  Footprints leading to the treeline showed the missing hikers left in their socks, one shoe, or barefoot.  It was here rescuers became a recovery team when they found the first two bodies, Krivonischenko and Doroshenko.

The two were laying under a cedar tree with recently broken branches.  They  were barefoot and in their underwear laying near the remains of a small fire. Their deaths appeared to me caused by hypothermia. (It’s not uncommon for people to strip before death from cold)

Dyatlov, Kolmogorova and Slobodin were found after, their positions indicated they may have been trying to return to camp.Their deaths seemed normal.

The rest weren’t found till May, in their hiding place of a nearby ravine.

Nicolai Thibeaux-Brignolles had a depressed skull fracture. Dubinina and Zolotarev chests were crushed and their  eyes were missing. Dubinina’s tongue was missing.  The internal injuries have no explanation other  “great pressure”.that something stronger than a human did it as the injuries were similar to being hit by a car. Unusually the soft tissues around the broken bones were undamaged.

Official cause of death is “a compelling force.”

Other stuff

Some witnesses say that the last three found had ohysical changes such as oringish skin and white hair. It’s said thay wer also radioactive. No idea how accurate this is.

There are many theories like..

The military

avalanche

aliens.

Kompolen(a protective forest spitit honored by the Mansi)

Yeti or more accurately Almasty

experiment

The Mansi(pretty sure this has been disproven)

Infrasound

a crap load of others.
